If you have to cancel the internet, I suggest it. I did for three years and it helped me a lot. I know, right? YouTube is the devil for me. If I had access to that, I would have relapsed a dozen times this month 😫.

Hey guys,
yep I did try that before, but I ended up finding ways around it. Am interested in all your convos about Covenant Eyes and might try it. Got to say though, for me it's really the spiritual battle inside my mind that I have to win. But if I keep failing, maybe I need to try something different.

Got to say though, for me it's really the spiritual battle inside my mind that I have to win. But if I keep failing, maybe I need to try something different. There was I time when I embraced the idea that I could not remove all access to porn in my house or phone. But I found a way, and I'm a sneaky person. So I found a sneaky solution to block access to porn when I'm experiencing a moment of unclarity. It took some trial and error. But I didn't give up trying to make my home a safe place. If I can do it, others can do it as well. Yes, I must demonstrate maintaining custody of my eyes and mind at all times, but I fail in that department a lot. And why make it easy to use porn when I'm craving? Using porn only leads to more cravings. And I've noticed that when porn is out of sight for me, it stands a better chance of also being out of mind.

I finally gave up on filters and changed my password for this computer to something that declares the Lordship of Jesus over my life. My passcode for my phone reminds me of a powerful Scripture of God's help in trouble and distress.
I must always remember my weakness and stay on my guard!

“And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NASB www.bible.com/100/2co.12.9-10.nasb

Hey guys,
thanks Dominic, great advice. Just checking in. I stumbled on Saturday unfortunately. On the plus side it was much less severe and lasted less time than usual. God has been merciful and great, praise His Holy name.

Hi Will, for me if I counted 'stumbling' as lusting after a women, then I would say that I stumble every day. I'm not even joking. I put on the TV, boom, TV news lady. I watch any kind of drama with the family and 'smack' I lusted again. If I take the Matthew 5:27-30 scriptures to heart then every time I am aroused and lusting after a beautiful women then I am having a spiritual adultery with her. This has even taken a toll on me in video games. Some games show the women's body too much and I point it out and my wife says, "why do you look? the kids probably don't notice that but you do." See what I mean. I know how it is man.
Praying for you and please pray for us too.

Hey guys! Just checking in. Have a week clean after a 'light' (I know it doesn't really make a difference!) stumble last Saturday. Had 3 wks up before then. Lol Dominic, thanks for sharing! Really good to hear your testimony. Am right there with you! No my 'light' stumbling consisted of a solid couple of hours watching inappropriate Youtube videos - not porn or nudity, but women in revealing outfits, etc. Zero tolerance is the only way! Yes I also have the problem of lusting after women to some extent, but have to say much less 'in real life' usually than onscreen. Onscreen there is that evil lack of accountability that the enemy uses to make it so easy to click on something and enter a 'fantasy land' with 'no consequences', which is a lie, because there ARE consequences! Defo get you about the games, believe me I could not play them, I would just constantly graduate to the erotic scenes, that as I understand it there are more and more of in games nowadays. But am still challenged in real life sometimes. If I see an attractive jogger or an attractive woman on the street when driving or walking, praise Jehovah I have the strength purposefully to look away and make sure I don't 'look at a woman to lust after her', but when it is close range it's not so easy. Was doing some shopping on Tuesday at a thrift store, thought was in a pretty good place spiritually, when two attractive teenage girls walk in. Instantly I'm all over the place and thinking the wrong thoughts. Wow it's hard to be prepared for that kind of thing! So it's not just you.
Interesting that you gave up filters Saved, yes they have never worked for me so far, but not against getting Covenant Eyes sometime. I kind of feel like I would like to get to a point where spiritually am disciplined enough to resist temptation and am experiencing victory, before I get into a system like that. Think otherwise I would feel like I was dependent on a technology and feel like that would make me even weaker the moment it was gone.
It's almost like 'the Law condemns': if there's a big wall saying 'you can't go in here', the enemy uses that to make me want it more. Conversely, often when porn has been most available and closest, is when I can have greater victory in refusing it, because I'm most aware that the enemy is pushing it at me and it's a bad thing. Weird. But maybe that's just me. Definitely think there's different strategies that can work differently for different people.
For example two of the best weapons I have are a day of rest (Saturday for me) and no fictional entertainment. For some reason if I can stick to them, usually am okay.
Will defo pray for you all, God bless you and by following the Lord Jesus and believing He will save us and set us free, we will have victory!!!

Thanks for your thoughts! "light" does make a difference, but you realize the dangers.
YEs, network tv, games, videos..... all of this tries to pull us away from pure thoughts. Satan's tools are many. So yes, we must be careful what we watch.
Like alcohol addiction, I know some people are OK with beer, but the alcoholic needs to stay far away from it.
Have a blessed Saturday! Thanks for posting.

Hey guys,
just checking in. Have been struggling over the last few days: really wrenching battle to avoid looking at any nudity or other stuff online. Have stayed away from it but only with big effort that feels like a bit of a flesh thing. Am trying to have a truly 'clean day' today.
