Hello everyone! My name is Noah and I have been struggling with my addiction since I was 11 years old, (My addiction has been on and off in the beginning, but this year has been pretty bad). I am 14 now, so I haven't had my addiction for too long, but I still feel terrible about it. I am a Christian and have been for my whole life. I really hope I can connect with you guys and have good Christian fellowship with you, and of course, ultimately, gain control of my addiction. Thanks for reading!

Hi Noah. I started with porn and masturbation at a young age too. Glad you are here. What steps have you taken to recover?
Don't forget to tell your story and update in the accountability section.

Well, I have definitely prayed. I think my relationship with God has really gotten me though this. I've read God's Word, and it has been helping, but even with prayer, I couldn't shake my addiction. But God has really been calling me to tell someone about my addiction, and although I haven't told my family (Which I plan on doing when I feel I am mentally ready) I chose to look for an online forum where I can interact with Christians like me. Obviously I found BlazingGrace. ((Should I write all this in a new thread in the accountability section?))

Hi Noah! Welcome to BG. It does my heart good to see a young man stepping up and into adulthood by admitting to a problem and seeking help to overcome it. You have gained my respect.
If you run into any issues here on the forums, be sure to let me or brave know. We do try to keep trolling and inappropriate behavior off this site but sometimes it can happen.
You can start a new thread in the accountability section or we can move this one there. Whatever you would like. Just let us know.
Praying is one of our strongest weapons in this battle. The other one is scripture. If you can memorize or carry around some help Bible verses, that helps battle the wrong thoughts we get with what is true. Something else that helps is having accountability partners that you can talk to when you are struggling. I asked some of my family to be my partners. It was hard to do but it really helped. Nothing like having to tell someone you admire and respect that you stumbled. It is a very humbling experience.
Stay close to God because in Him lies our strength.

I admire your courage, Noah. There are some great guys here (and women!) that will give you lots of support. Lean on them and they will guide you, along with our Heavenly Father. You have a lot going for you; hold onto that.
Prayers for you.
Grace

Thanks everyone for your love and support (If it would be more convenient for everyone Amy, then go ahead and move this thread to accountability, if it isn't too much trouble. Thanks)
