I have one day, the first day on my road to recovery. All the lies are out now. I was drinking as a way to cope with my life choices. I need to be responsible for my own behavior and not focused on my husband's behavior. I think my skewed view lead me down a dangerous path of destruction but God was there convicting my heart and I am now taking active steps to change. Repentance is not just asking for forgiveness but turning away from my wicked ways. I feel I am doing that and all I have is today. I am a daughter of the king and I need to start behaving that way. I have faith that just for today I can be pleasing in the Lord's eyes and not act out.

Hey, you, I came to check in on you and am so happy to see that you are doing good. YES, you are the King's Daughter! Let that sink deep in your heart. When the road gets long and the hill is to steep to climb you have a Father that loves you beyond anything we can imagine. I always imagine, in tough times, my Heavenly Father putting his arms around me and pulling me close and telling me that I am okay.
You are okay ... you will make it up this hill, you might be a little out of breathe, your muscles may be a little strained, and you may be sweat soaked, but you will make it. Jesus is right there with you. He wants to cleanse your soul just as a Mother cleans her house. Just take it all to him, sweetie, pour it all out and he will grant you a peace, a forgiveness, and an order to all that has occurred in your life.
I will hold you close and keep you in my prayers ... Go through this day knowing that you are loved, you are cherished and you are forgiven!
Blessings to you, my friend. Grace

Thank you everyone for your prayers and encouragement! It means a lot. I think the hardest part for me is putting my recovery first and having faith the my husband will make good choices. The only behavior I can control is my own and being honest with myself and others is a start.

Well I had a set back but today is a new day. Started my day with prayer and God's word so far so good. Trying to keep busy doing productive things.I find when I get stuck in my head it is never a good ending. Thank you all for being supportive and keeping me in prayer it means a lot.

To keep your mind on track, you have to train it. You are doing the right thing by reading the Word and praying. May I suggest memorizing a short verse that you can bring into your mind when you start thinking wrong? Also doing a word study on love would help tremendously. Once you start to understand and believe how God views you, you will have an easier time choosing God instead of sin. I have been sober 8 years. It does get easier but for me the temptation is still there. However I see it for what it is...lies and not what I want or need. This sin does teach you to be in constant prayer with the Lord. It is only with our Father that we will overcome these temptations/sins.

Unfortunately, setbacks are part of every person's journey through this life. No way around it. Gotta go through it. However, just because you're experiencing a personal setback of sorts -- it doesn't mean you are forever doomed. The setback is just where you are right this minute. It's not where you will always be. Lean in close to the Father, and let this setback set you up for a comeback.
Keeping you in my prayers, Sister!

Hello Missy, I hope you are blessed and your husband is blessed. Dear Heavenly Father, please help their marriage and give them strength and help them to trust and obey. Please help us too Lord. We want to trust and obey too. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
It would be great if you could provide an update. It's no shame or pressure though. Take care sister.
