First time here...
I wanted to ask... is it possible to live without masturbation...? But I want to ask it of certain criteria:
1- You are male (I realize females may also be tempted by this... but I want to ask it only of males...)
2- You are under 50 years of age...
3- You are not married (single) and have no other means of release...
4- You do not have the "gift of singleness" as Paul talked about, and Jesus also talked about... that not all men have this...
5- You have lived without masturbation for an extended period of time... (I mean 21 days is long... but I am talking about 1 year... or ate least 6 months), and I mean without any release, including wet dreams...
6- I want to hear that this is possible for at least several of the men out there..., not just the one single exception out there... still if one person has done it, I want to find out about it...
7- You have lived without m for extended period of time, and was not living overly in stress, or fatigue, or otherwise and have been able to be productive and relatively in peace of mind....
I want to ask is it possible...? I mean I don't think somehow that masturbation is "OK" or condoned by the Bible at all... still it doesn't make sense.... b/c unless you have the gift of singleness, why would Paul say to get married...? I mean if it is possible for men to live without masturbation for extended period of times... then according to Paul's logic, shouldn't all people avoid marriage...? Since he said it is better to be single than to marry, but to marry than to burn with passion... But if any man can theoretically live free of "m" for extended periods of times (allowing for possibility of falling or sinning of once or at most twice a year, and he can quickly repent and be forgiven of it), then according to the Bible he (and by extension all men) should not get married, though it is OK for them to get married...
I think the longest I've gone without it is about just over 2 weeks... I seem to get sick, to the point of coughing and sniveling and be under stress, if I go longer without it.... where I have til now caved in and done the deed... (I mean I literally got physically sick...)
I wonder though if I avoid all forms of "stimulation", I am talking about watching any female figures, on TV, or even dating sites, or elsewhere... that might even "suggestively" provoke, I wonder if it might be possible to go longer... even for months...
I mean when I do "do" it, I don't feel very good about it... I do feel guilty, and find myself repenting profusely... sometimes I spend the whole day moaning around at home... and have felt that somehow I might be "vulnerable" to attacks of the enemy if I went outside... so if this happens over the weekend and between 2 weeks, I have been able to make it work (with work and all)...
Is this also wrong..? I would like to hear your comments about it... somehow I seem to know it, and even going by OT standards, a man was supposed to be "unclean" only till even, but I have wasted whole days on it in the past... until now...
