Hey Steve,
Now that you've had your stoggie and we've had some ice cream (Captivated - I hope you had the heath bar crunch - I had the cookie dough ) , what is your next bicyling goal? How about 4,000 miles next year?
Thanks for the private e mail. I'll keep that offer in mind if I get to that point.

Steve,
I just checked out your picture again just for fun. Hey, is that a bag on the back, or is it one of those thingies that has a motor with a rubber wheel that propels the bike forward? If its a motor, you need to come clean and fess up.

RTK... It's a bag. My next major goal is bicycling across America, but I'm not sure when it will happen. As for the stoogie...

You guys are so funny !!!! This picture's such comic relief on this web site! Yes, thankfully, God's given us humor and laughter and rejoicing in triumphs amidst our journey as well! Thanks for sharing some of this with us, Steve! It's a blessing! As for the ice cream.......I think our family is on our 3rd Thanksgiving celebration today and this does not include leftovers:P, so I'd better either avoid the ice cream for a time OR start cycling with you guys!!! My husband's been doing some cycling, as well!

Just curious, what are you hobbies and interests. Here are mine: -Road bicycling -Photography -Building web sites -Counseling and Men's Ministry -Hiking "14ers" (For non-Coloradoans, those are mountains with an altitude of 14,000+ feet above sea level.) -Cheering for the New York Yankees -Hiking -Chess -Smoking a good cigar now and then. -Worship. -Eating pizza, lasagna or steak. -Talking on the phone late at night with friends. -Growing out my hair. Your turn. -Steve

With 5 kids, one of my hobbies is folding laundry and cleaning up messes....seriously! Actually, I truly have had some of my best moments of worship and prayer while folding laundry in the secluded nook of our basement where our washer and dryer are! Really, my hobbies are worship, lots of worship music....as much as possible! Also, talking and praying with other women, enjoying nature, walking, I guess e-mailing friends and checking in here, listening to sermons from a church in Colorado, and when I have time I'm attempting to learn how to play guitar and take a course related to my training, but this may take years at the rate I'm going! ...also writing poetry and songs when inspired...and meeting total strangers and somehow sharing about the Lord, depending on their need and how the Lord leads. One day, I'd like to get into hiking and camping more or maybe missions wherever in the world He leads us.....maybe even bike riding, who knows?! My husband enjoys bike riding! captivated

I guess no one else on this forum has hobbies but us 3...:?
* Music / Recording
* Firearms
* Hypersports bikes
* Video games
-- that pretty much sums it up.

I know this is an old thread, so maybe nobody will read this...
I love cats. We have 7. I wear a lot of things that have Tigger on them. I play most things that have a keyboard by ear, and a bit on the clarinet. I, too, write poetry and songs, generally about my faith. If I am addicted to something, it would be playing Minesweeper. I love to read, mostly fiction, fantasy, science fiction, preferably christian. I also like christian historical fiction, like Gilbert Morris, and westerns, like Brock and Bodie Thoene. I hate housework, but am working on my addiction to avoiding it. :-) Singing should have gone with the music, though my voice is nothing special. Guess that's about it.

Ah, but I did it. I reached the Cottonwood Pass summit, which is part of the Continental Divide. It took me three hours to bike 19.6 miles of uphill. Yeeesh!
It was so worth it. Not to mention, the ride down was glorious as I whizzed downhill at about 30 to 35 miles per hour for much of the way. And just look at all the snow that's still way up there! -Steve

Way to go, Steve. So, did you have to walk up most of the hill and drag your bike along....or did you make it in a really low granny gear
Hey, I am proud of my 15 yr old daughter and her cycling. Last Saturday, she and a girl friend did 100 miles at a formal century ride!
She will go out for a quick spin - then she comes back and tells me about her riding with the big boys from the local racing club- and keeping up with them just fine. The old man - and others- are going to have trouble keeping up with this gal!
